Best Fish and Chips Recipe
Traditional British Fish & Chips
- Sunflower oil
- Sustainable & ethically sourced white fish
- A bag of flour
- Small btl of real ale
- Baking powder
- Take your fresh white fish and sprinkle in salt and if you like, also a hint of black pepper. Whisk your ale, 250g flour and 2 spoonfuls of baking powder. Dip the fish, dust it again in flour and gently set into the pre-heated oil and already frying chips, usually 5 minutes on the fish at the end of the chips regime will get you a nice crisp batter.
- Crunch tasty home-made chips – wash and chop your potatoes, and parboil them. Remove, dry, and set into pot of heated to 200ºc oil carefully (head back) to deep fry gently for around 20 mins.
- Do not leave the room or home when this is frying, and have a smoke alarm ON, deep frying is delicious but dangerous!
